“In order to truly communicate, we must take responsibility for the heart space that exists between us and another…”

Meet Cynthia Hope, piano guide

“For me, teaching piano isn’t just about technique— it’s about honoring the individual and supporting their inherent gifts.

I believe learning unfolds best in a space that feels safe, supported, and inspired.

Watching my student’s confidence and self expression soar is one of my greatest joys!”

Who I Teach

Children (ages 4+)

Working with young children is one of my greatest joys.

At this age, students can be playful, resistant, curious, and wonderfully open—all at once. I keep lessons engaging and fun, while gently building focus over time.

We begin by getting to know the piano—often by looking inside it and understanding how it works.

I pay close attention to what each child responds to and encourage that spark.

My goal is for them to leave with the ability to read, write, and play music—and a genuine love for it.

Teens + Young Adults

As students grow, I support them in deepening both their skill and their musical expression.

For those preparing for auditions or advancing their studies, I offer:

  • Repertoire development

  • Technical refinement

  • Musical interpretation

  • Audition preparation

I’ve worked with students preparing for programs such as the
New Mexico School for the Arts, helping them develop their audition material with confidence.

If a student’s path becomes highly specialized—whether classical, jazz, or otherwise—I support them in transitioning to a teacher who can take them even further.

Adults

I love working with adults—whether you’re returning to piano or starting for the very first time.

Our work together is:

  • Relaxed and supportive

  • Tailored to your pace

  • Focused on music you enjoy

There is no pressure—only the opportunity to reconnect with creativity and experience the joy of playing.
